VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Your support and dedication of This Is Us means everything. You are the reason we are able to continue to pour into the lives of the students at McLain High School.
As we prepare for this upcoming school year, the Board of Directors extends an invitation for you to join our team of volunteers. Whether it is one hour or 100 hours of service, we invite you to meet and serve the students at McLain. We promise, once you say hello, they will forever become a part of your heart.
SPORTS NUTRITION PROGRAM VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Minimum Commitment - 1 sport per school year
One chair needed for each sports team
Current Team Lead opportunities:
Volleyball - August - Early October
Cheer - August - February (Football & Basketball season)
Cross Country - August - Early October
Baseball - Spring
o Liaison with coach regarding nutrition needs, dates and times for food delivery
o Schedule and order food for pre-game meals
o Organize a small team of volunteers to pick-up and deliver food

Minimum Commitment - 1 meal per month. More opportunities available
Pick-up pre-game meals from local restaurant and deliver to McLain High School at specified date and time
o Responsibilities vary between sports.
Oftentimes the meals will be ordered and paid for in advance and we need volunteers to only pick-up and deliver to the front office of school.
Other times, we may need you to pay for meals and submit for reimbursement. All reimbursements are done within 5-7 days of submitting receipt to the treasurer.
Some sports offer the opportunity to help set-up food for the teams and interact with students

Minimum Commitment - 1x per school year. More opportunities available.
Football Season - August - November
Help set-up and serve meal to football team and cheerleading squad
Meal date and times vary - Thursday or Friday are game days and serve times are generally between 3:00 - 4:30pm
Weekend Food Bag Program Volunteer opportunities

Minimum Commitment - 1x per semester (more if desired)
Volunteer with a TIU Board member and other volunteers at a bag packing event. Times TBD
Assist with set-up and tear-down of food boxes
Help assemble each bag in food assembly line.

Minimum Commitment - 1x per semester (more if desired)
Assist in transporting completed weekend food bags from packing location to This Is Us room at McLain High School.

Minimum Commitment - 1x per semester (more if desired). Friday afternoons during the school year.
Service time - 3:15pm - 4:00pm
Assist in bringing food bags from This Is Us room to the school cafeteria and distribute food bags to students.

Minimum Commitment - 125 note cards
Each of our 125 weekly food bags contains a hand written note of encouragement. These are simple 1-2 line notecards.
Volunteer to handwrite notecards, or organize a school group, church group, scout group, mahjong group, etc to write 125 (or more) notecards to be placed in our weekly food bags.
Board of director & committee opportunities

Minimum commitment - Two year term
Attend monthly board meetings, join committees, volunteer and contribute specialized skills

One-Year term with intent to roll into the Treasurer position on the Board of Directors.
o Assume treasurer role for following school year. Timing for transition to be discussed with the treasurer.
o Book keeping and budget management skills preferred
o Work with current treasurer to learn Quickbooks, budget and reimbursement procedures

Serve as a committee member on one of the following committees:
Volunteer Committee
Marketing Committee
Event Committee
Development/Fundraising Committee
